The Opal Sky
2 March 2021
When I fly back
It will be through a sky of opal
The silver moon of that anonymous poem
Will herald my dreams
Crashing waves will move silently below
Billows of fragrant petals will blow through my heart and over your skin
Your eyes will be stones from the red desert
Lighting my way across the equator
Beneath the sea
Coral will sway
The sky of opal
Will be of ever-changing colours
That obscure themselves
And can only be seen in the darkness of love's return.
