A New Life
16 April 2020
Looking at the blank spaces on the calendar;
A social desert expanse.
Feeling the disappointment of cancellation;
Friends down the road are in a distant country.
Pausing to look at the blue sky from the kitchen window;
The white wisps wander without plane trails
Feeling flour between my finger tips,
I watch the cakes rise through the oven door.
Not rushing to leave the house;
I pour another cup of coffee.
