Tinashe Mushakavanhu

Tinashe Mushakavanhu is a Junior Research Fellow in African & Comparative Literature at St Anne's College, Oxford; and has been a postdoctoral fellow at WiSER, University of the Witwatersrand.

He is interested in the role of literary archives in documentation, historical knowledge, and political power in southern Africa. The work investigates the aesthetics and materiality of writing and manifests in interdisciplinary modalities. It blurs creative and critical methods, and writing genres, in order to imaginatively reconfigure the strictures that conventionally separate the poetic and the theoretical.

His latest book projects include Dambudzo Marechera: The Fear & Loathing out of Harare (Chimurenga, 2021) and A Brief History of the Zimbabwe International Book Fair (Cambridge University Press, forthcoming 2022).
