OCLW Director Professor Elleke Boehmer is Humanities lead on the UKRI GCRF Accelerating Achievement for Africa’s Adolescents (Accelerate) Hub project. The Accelerate Hub generates evidence including from narrative sources on which development accelerators – alone and in synergy with each other – can support adolescents in Africa to reach multiple Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Accelerate Hub brings together interdisciplinary research teams focusing on supporting children and young people in thriving in the second decade of life: adolescence. Elleke Boehmer's role in the Hub is to look specifically at how story-telling in all its dimensions encourages young people to see themselves as agents within their own lives and contexts. Her preliminary findings are available as workshop reports on the Hub website.
