Pınarnaz Eren is a doctoral candidate at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) Munich. Her thesis, titled “Selves in Series: Autofiction and the Issue of Seriality”, aims to explore the extent to which serial format can contribute to the autofictionality of a work. The primary texts of her thesis include Outline trilogy by Rachel Cusk, Scenes from Provincial Life trilogy by J. M. Coetzee, The Golden Notebook by Doris Lessing, and A Dance to the Music of Time series by Anthony Powell. She is working on the first two chapters of her project right now: The first chapter focuses on the relationship between autofictionality and the multiplication of book endings and beginnings through serial format. The second chapter questions the relationship between self-construction and seriality.
Pınarnaz’s translation of Gabriel García Márquez’s biography by Stephen M. Hart was published in Turkey in 2021. She has contributed to the Turkish literary magazine Notos Öykü mostly with her short essays since 2017. She holds bachelor’s degrees in philosophy and English language and literature from Boğaziçi University. She gained her master’s degree in English studies at LMU Munich. As with her master’s degree, her doctoral studies are funded by Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD).
