Cathy Perkins is a writer and editor based in Sydney, Australia. Her book The Shelf Life of Zora Cross (Monash University Publishing, 2019) tells the life story of an Australian poet and journalist who was well known in the early 20th century and then largely forgotten. It was shortlisted for a NSW Premier’s History Award and highly commended in Australia’s National Biography Award. She is undertaking a PhD in nonfiction writing at the University of New South Wales in Sydney to work on an unconventional group biography of communist playwrights Betty Roland, Catherine Duncan and Oriel Gray.
